fLast week our church, St. Andrew's United Methodist, had Vacation Bible School. The theme this year was High Seas Expedition, Exploring the Mighty Love of God.
My friend Lacy and I were in charge of the crafts. This was my first year to participate in VBS and Lacy's 1st year to do crafts. It was quite an adventure and we had a great time working with the kids.
We created some memorable tissue paper anchors, ship clips, sneaky snakes, bookmarks, picture frames, and pictures and cards for the kids to send to children in Africa. The children also raised over $1,000 to send to Africa to go towards the building of a new hospital, so exciting!
The week was a success and everyone had a wonderful time. Our hope was to reach at least one child and show them the word of the Lord, I pray that we did! We had a great leader and an awesome crew! The church celebrated the end of the week with a VBS finale, complete with a hot dog cookout and water games!
